Dear members and friends of Echo Park United Methodist Church:

Given dramatic increases in the number of new COVID cases in Los Angeles County, and on the recommendation of the County Department of Public Health, the leadership of our congregation has made the difficult decision to take our Christmas Eve service of worship completely online. We will not be gathering in person.

This is the second year in a row that we have had to celebrate the birth of the Christ Child online instead of in person. This is disappointing. And yet, it is what we must do to keep ourselves and others safe. Our first priority must always be to love our neighbors as ourselves by doing no harm to any of God’s beloved children.

We will be gathering by Zoom and I invite you to join us there tonight at 7:00 p.m.:

Estimados miembros y amigos de la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Echo Park:

Dados los aumentos dramáticos en el número de nuevos casos de COVID en el Condado de Los Angeles, y por recomendación del Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado, el liderazgo de nuestra congregación ha hecho la difícil decisión de celebrar nuestro servicio de adoración de Nochebuena completamente en línea. No nos reuniremos en persona.

Este es el segundo año consecutivo que hemos tenido que celebrar el nacimiento del Niño Cristo en línea en lugar de en persona. Esto es decepcionante.
