About Echo Park United Methodist Church

Echo Park United Methodist Church is located near downtown Los Angeles in the Echo Park neighborhood, at the corner of Alvarado and Reservoir Streets.

The church was founded in 1906 and met in “the little brown church” located just up the hill on Reservoir.  As the church grew, members decided a new site was needed, and purchased land at the corner of Alvarado and Reservoir.

We are a reconciling congregation, which means we welcome all worshipers, regardless of sexual orientation. We are working towards the full participation of all God’s people in the United Methodist Church.

We are a congregation in the California- Pacific Conference, aka Cal-Pac, which publishes a lot of information about our denomination, as well as a calendar of events for UMC churches across the region, at http://www.calpacumc.org.
